Janina’ofa Galewski-Tangataevaha is a PhD Candidate at the University of Waikato Division of Health, specializing in Pacific health research and the pursuit of equitable outcomes for Pacific peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand. Her doctoral research, which is being presented at this conference, investigates the impact of culturally tailored Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) interventions on Tongan adults with high-risk Type 2 Diabetes. This work builds on a Master’s degree in Health, Sport, and Human Performance, where she explored the unique health experiences of Pacific rural populations. She has expertise in utilizing innovative technologies and community-led models to address chronic disease inequities, including a short-term secondment as an Academic Advisor at the Ministry of Health.
